Whats weird is that the titan atf 3000 is obviously an atf oil but the T0-4 isn't? After a bit of research I found on the hungarian (I think) Fuchs site that the UTTO T0-4 is the equivalent of the JCB EP 10w. What is also interesting is that Fuchs France said that their TITAN ATF 3000 was recommended and also the TITAN UTTO T0-4 10w. The oil conforms to the following specs -ĬATERPILLAR T0-4, ALLISON C-4, ZF TE-ML 03C I do know that normally EP refers to extreme pressure but think this may not be the case with this jcb stuff as it states EXTREME PERFORMANCE EP TRANSMISSION FLUID 10W on the can?

You get this in the manual gearbox oils as well. I do note however it has EP, that's an additive, it means extreme pressure. Morris have given me their only French distributors address and I waiting for there reply still.Ĭan you give me the spec of the oil you have and I'll have a check for you. Regarding the other oils and a bulk order from Morris, I have the hydraulic fluid, coolant, engine oil etc I just need the drive shaft and gearbox oil. I would obviously like to get the proper stuff as it is only for private use and I will not do the hours so it will stay in for a long while but as I say I do have the genuine 10w stuff but don't mind getting some other oil if somone really can tell me it is not suitable? Yes, I am sure they do but as said I do have a 20l can of the genuine JCB EP 10w, so my question is it suitable as the dealers say or is this type of oil not recommended at all (ie it will not do the transmission any good). I did copy and paste it in my browser as you said but it did not work each time so must be because I am using the iphone/safari.

Will morris's not ship you a pallet of half dozen 25 litre cans of oil out ? You could get all you oils in one go. If you cant get the M2C 33 i would use a standard 10w tractor transmission oil. Strangely those power shuttle transmissions use Dexron 2 when fitted in the Thwaites dumpers. Quite simply JCB dealers want to sell you their own JCB brand oil. You have to copy and paste the link into your search bar. I have some jcb EP 10w but am now reluctant to use it and have found a few oils with the ford Mc2 33g rating but need to be sure? I have spoken to Morris lubricants UK and they said than a 10w oil Is nothing like a 33G and never has been! Has anyone any idea? He also said that the EP 10w has replaced the now discontinued Special fluid? I am also sure that the old JCB SPECIAL TRANS FLUID had a Ford spec of ESP-M2C 33G but 3 dealers have told me to use the JCB EP 10W oil and one told me that the only JCB machine to use ATF in the gearbox is the loader shovels with ZF boxes. I thought that these machines (after some research) used an ATF fluid? Regarding the trans oil, the manual reccommends 18lt + of JCB special transmission fluid for the transmission for machines from 320000 but no specs/cross reference. I would also like to change the front axel, hub torque converters and rear axel oil later on so any advice on these fluids would be good (wet brake axle oil?) When all the main jobs are done I will drain the hydraulic oil reservoir and re fill with fresh fluid so again any expert tips greatly appreciated!

The slew pot seals also leak a little through the join in the kinkpost so these will be changed. I need to change the seals in the two top front bucket rams as they leak quite bad but the 56mm (I think from memory) nut seems incredibly tight! Just to confirm if it is a normal, not reverse thread? Are they thread locked? Is a 90cm (140mm jaws) pipe wrench suitable for removal of these type of nuts (if flat jaw protectors were made to stop any damage to the actual nuts)? Would you reccommend putting a scale cleaner through first or could this cause more problems do you think? Any tips on changing the collant would be much appreciated. I am waiting for new water hoses to arrive and will change these with the coolant.

I have already changed the engine oil, filter, two fuel filters and hydraulic filter but would like to drop the gearbox oil which I think is the same oil which flows into the torque converter? This I am sure is drained seperately via a small drain plug ? This version has a manual gearbox/clutch with the forward/reverse stalk which I think you call the shuttle reverser. I have done a bit of restoration to get her looking more like new and protected from the winter elements (wiring, painting cab inside/out etc) but would just like a bit of info on the correct fluids to use please. I have recently aquired a 1990 JCB 3cx 4x4 turbo backhoe (grey cab, project 7 I think?) for our self build project which is my first piece of plant machinery of my own.
